Bake something fun, share it with the world, and you could win a new Holiday Cake Pan
Thank you to everyone who joined last month’s Bake Club Challenge and baked beautiful Apple Cakes and Cupcakes. I was genuinely impressed by your apple roses, creative decorations, and the ways you made the recipes your own. One baker even topped apple cupcakes with molded chocolate trees and fall-colored candy leaves — so clever!
The winner of last month’s challenge was Mary from Texas. Congratulations, Mary!
Let’s talk about this month’s challenge recipe…
Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Buttercream and Caramel Rum Sauce

This carrot cake has been a favorite for years. I’ve served it to guests who normally pass on carrot cake and even to a couple of declared carrot-cake skeptics — everyone enjoyed it. The recipe is versatile: you can make a two-layer cake, a 10-inch Bundt cake, or 24 cupcakes. Each format showcases the same moist, warmly spiced cake and benefits from the same finishing touches.
Whatever format you choose—layer cake, Bundt, or cupcakes—don’t skip the cream cheese buttercream and the caramel rum sauce. The cream cheese frosting adds tang and richness, while the caramel rum sauce brings a deeply satisfying, slightly boozy sweetness that elevates the whole dessert. Those two elements are where the cake really shines.
The October Bake Club Prize!
This month the prize is a Nordic Ware Pine Forest Bundt Pan. It’s a beautiful, festive pan that creates a detailed, seasonal design with minimal effort. I bought one for myself last year and used it to make Gingerbread Cake with sugared cranberries; the results were stunning. I’m already imagining chocolate-and-peppermint or an eggnog-flavored pound cake, though the gingerbread was hard to top.

Even without additional decoration, this pan makes a cake look festive and special thanks to its detailed pattern. If the winner already owns the same or a similar pan, don’t worry — I’ll be happy to offer an alternative prize option.
How To Participate in The Bake Club
Joining the Bake Club is easy. Sign up to receive a monthly email announcing the new recipe challenge and prize, and you’ll be the first to know what to bake next. The email list is also how I’ll contact the monthly winner. If you’ve signed up before, there’s no need to sign up again.

Bake this month’s challenge and show it off
You have three options for entering the giveaway. Choose the method that’s easiest for you:
